 The Greater Grand Rapids Safe Kids formed a partnership with the Office of Children, Youth and Families with over 40 community partners launched a year-long safety campaign called "Safe Home, Safe Kids."  We wanted to reduce the number of childhood injuries that occur within the home! If you are a parent, grandparent or caregiver, there are preventive steps that you can take for children. Children under the age of five are most vulnerable to serious injuries -- falls, burns & cuts. Please check your smoke detectors and review a fire escape plan with your child. Keep cigarettes out of the reach of children. Put guards in front of stairs. Supervise children. Move household cleaners away from reach.
