City of Grand Rapids Environmental Services Announces:
WEST MICHIGAN TAKE BACK MEDS PROGRAM
The City of Grand Rapids Environmental Service Department is proud to announce the West Michigan Take Back Meds program starting December 1, 2010. The program is a partnership with local pharmacies, surrounding communities and the Kent County Public Works Department. The partnership will provide a permanent, no cost service to area residents for proper disposal of unused, unwanted or expired medicines. Participation in the program will assure that collected medicines are safely and properly disposed.
Controlled substances will not be accepted at participating pharmacies, but may be anonymously deposited in secured drop boxes located in the lobbies of local law enforcement agencies.
