    Basic Info:
The City of Grand Rapids has partnered with ICMA-RC to offer all new hires (except employees in the police and fire departments who are eligible for a pension plan) a 401a retirement account.  After passing your initial 6 month probation period, you will begin contributing 6% of your pre-tax wages into this account, and the City will match it by adding another 6%.
