The Grand Rapids Police Department (GRPD) is proud to announce that we are expanding our volunteer program and are now accepting applications from citizens who are interested in becoming a member of the GRPD Police Volunteer Program.  The GRPD Police Volunteer Program is an opportunity for adults who are at least 18 years of age to invest back into the community.

    · Responding to reports of found property

    · Enforcement of parking violations

    · Assisting disabled or elderly citizens

    · Assisting with identification of abandoned vehicles

    · Conducting vacation house checks

    · Observing and reporting suspicious activity within the city

In order to be considered qualified applicants must:

    ·       Minimum of 18 years of age

    ·       Have U.S. Citizenship

    ·       Successfully Complete a Personal History Investigation

    ·       Provide a minimum of 8 hours of Volunteer Service monthly

    ·       Successfully complete training program
