    Volunteer Information

    As a non-profit, grant-funded program, we are always looking for dedicated volunteers that desire to work with school-aged youth in an inner-city setting. We are flexible with individual schedules and time commitments, as well as goals in volunteering. Volunteer work can be tailored as best as we can to include different types of experiences, including one-on-one interaction, small group work, general programming assistance, tutoring, and bilingual support, to name a few. To begin, download and complete the Grand Rapids Public Schools Volunteer Application (below), and follow the instructions on how to submit. Be sure to write LOOP next to the school desired in the top right line. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any particular questions.

    Internship Information

    We now offer unique internship opportunities that fit well with a number of areas of study, including Sociology, Youth Development, Movement Sciences, Education and Non-Profit Management. Position details can be found by viewing our Internship Fact Sheet (below). These positions combine direct youth planning and programming experience with exposure to staff and program administration. We are currently working with a number of local colleges and universities, including Calvin College, Aquinas College, and Grand Valley State University.

     

     

     

     

     

    Employment Information

    Do you enjoy working with children? Do you have experience and/or education in youth services, child development, K-12 education, recreation or child care? We're looking for motivated and enthusiastic staff like you to work with elementary and teenage youth! Rates of pay vary ($8.50-$15.00) depending on position, experience/education and site. Hours vary based on site schedule and position and can range anywhere from 15-30 hours per week. The RRR program is devoted to promoting, teaching and rewarding hard work and positive behaviors of youth in its after school and summer programs. RRR staff plan, conduct and coordinate with other agencies to provide a well-rounded program of recreation, enrichment, and life skills activities. Applications are accepted year-round, with more active hiring at the beginning of our Summer and School-Year Programs.

    Summer programming begins June 20 and ends August 11, 2011.

    The 2011/2012 after school program begins mid-September and ends late May 2012.

    If you are interested in working with the RRR program but cannot commit to a regular schedule substiute positions are available. Substitute schedules are given as needed and as your schedule allows.
